Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Key duties and responsibilities:
 
  • The objective of the role is to lead and build the Benchmarking group  for Product Engineering division
  • Building Extensive database of object and subjective result of all vehicle attributes and systems
  • Supporting the Lotus product group with benchmark and target setting data to deliver world-class vehicles
  • Responsible for leading and growing the Lotus benchmarking group and supporting the other Attributes functions with Data and objective data
  • The role includes management and leadership for the following functional areas within the group
  • Vehicle Dynamics Benchmarking - Subjective assessment and documentation of vehicle dynamics, including brakes, steering, aerodynamics
  • Objective measurement and database analysis
  • Weights and dimensions measurement and reporting including full vehicle teardown
  • HVAC and Thermal Measurement and rig testing to system characterisation
  • NVH performance sound quality, aero acoustic performance and general NVH vehicle performance
  • Interior Benchmarking and measurements, for all occupant package
  • Working with Lotus Quality team benchmarking quality
  • Rig test and instrumentation - to deliver rig test and instrumentation facilities to support project requirements at component, subsystem and vehicle level
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Essential Criteria:
 
  • Degree Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience of all areas of Vehicle benchmarking and Development on high performance vehicles
  • Able to lead and realise growth of knowledge and expertise within this area. Ability to mentor and grow young talent for the future
  • Experience of leading project and  department activities on a number of vehicle platforms
  • Committed to deliver to the highest of standards on all aspects of the vehicle. Confident to report results and presentations
  • Production manufacturing experience
