Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Responsible for all physical teardown and measurement activities within the benchmarking department.
They will create/maintain the teardown database and issue detailed reports including weights, dimensions, materials, serviceability, attachment strategies and ideation workshops with a focus on cost and weight saving.
They will be the key point of contact and become the "subject matter expert" for all teardown activities and to support engineers with design optimisation tasks.
With both lab and vehicle based test activities, they will support attribute engineers during the critical design stages with competitor data and objective measurements.

As a new role within the benchmarking department the engineer will be able to define the role and work with key people within the business.
Success in the future will create new roles to provide additional services to engineers within the business supporting key design and target setting activities.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Manage all teardown activities within the Lotus Benchmark group.
Set-up and run competitive vehicle physical analysis (teardown) lab issuing detailed reports.
Creation and management of the teardown database including weights, dimensions, material usage, serviceability, attachment strategies and 3D data.
Secures/facilitates appropriate core/extended team involvement in teardown activities.
Support attributes and measurement engineers with objective data gathering aiding design optimisation.
Run turn-key measurement activities to support design and target setting.
Manages equipment procurement and physical analysis workshop preparation.
Sets overall prioritisation of competitive physical analysis projects, cadence/schedule of measurement and teardown activities, ensuring timely delivery of expected output
