Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Identify production model run out strategy, to ensure continuity of supply to aftersales of forthcoming production obsolete parts, in line with market requirements and legislation.
General requirements:
• Identify parts to become production obsolete and build working relationships with the suppliers.
• To negotiate ongoing supplies to the best possible commercial terms
• Place orders as agreed with the senior buyer and Parts Manager, in line with demand.
• To ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures
• To assist in day to day running of the Purchasing Department and all activities associated with it

Key Duties/responsibilities specific to various areas:
• To liaise with internal buying teams in order to enter timely negotiations with suppliers
  Explore potential cost-down opportunities
• To ensure supply continuity to meet legislative market requirements.
• Calendarize and maintain the production run out plans to ensure aftersales requirements can be maintained for all discontinued models. 
 
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Excellent communication & negotiation skills
PC literate with current Microsoft Office applications
Outgoing. Responsive. Flexible. Ambitious. Persuasive. Self-directing. Passion for delivering objectives
Ability and acceptance of a degree of domestic and international travel, occasionally with little notice
