Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):

Role Summary:

  • To provide Programme Management support and co-ordination throughout the development of new model programmes including Programme Timing and scheduling Cost Management
  • Resource Planning and preparation of reports to support gateway reviews
  • Provide help in prioritising workload for the Manufacturing and New Model Launch Engineers
  • To provide the key interface between the Manufacturing Engineering Department and the Product Development and Programme Management Departments
  • Initially working with external lead contractors
  • To develop a Project Management Office within the Manufacturing Engineering department of Lotus Cars including defining processes, procedures, policies and all documentation to be used

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create, review, maintain and monitor progress against programme timing plans.
  • Create, review, maintain and monitor progress against workload tracker.
  • Provide support to Manufacturing and New Product Launch engineers in setting workload priorities.
  • Prepare and maintain Manufacturing Engineering documentation including reports and presentations.
  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering at all levels both internally and externally e.g. Programme Steering Teams, Programme Reviews, Cost Reviews, Suppliers etc.
  • Consult and liaise with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality personnel to ensure that issues are captured, tracked and resolved.
  • Facilitate cross functional teams to ensure information is presented to support successful introduction of vehicles into manufacturing through prototype build phases to SoP and volume.
  • Maintain a log of issues arising and resolutions to enable useful “lessons learned” feedback to manufacturing engineering group.
  • Play a key role in the development, creation and standardisation of a new Manufacturing Programme Management & launch process.
  • Support DRF reduction activities, liaising with Engineering and Operations departments.


Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
 Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree/HNC in Engineering or an associated management qualification
  • Very good working knowledge of niche vehicle and/or OEM automotive manufacturing industries.
  • Experience of Programme or Project Management, engineering or business management
  • Experience of Programme or Project Management, engineering or business management in automotive or aerospace environment High level PC skills are expected, (Word, Excel, Project etc)
  • Travel dependent on specific issue/project, mainly UK but possible occasional trips within Europe
  • A right to work in the UK is required for this role
