Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Lotus are in a phase of growth and are expanding on the current production models after record sales and heavy investment. Due to the aforementioned we are increasing the size of the quality department and require a New Product Quality Engineer - Propulsion Systems.
This role offers the opportunity to demonstrate business improvement and measurable change throughout the Lotus supply chain, thereby improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive and facilitate Failure Mode Avoidance activities (QHR, PFMEA, / DFMEA etc) within the BICEP
  • Product Quality performance target setting and achievement
  • Support Quality attributes and reliability target definition & achievement
  • Intercompany / project support for Powertrain Quality activities and requirements 
  • Ensure robustness of BICEP DVP
  • Support development of Project Robustness Assessment
  • Conduct virtual and physical fresh eyes / campaign prevention reviews 
  • Product and part Quality inspection standard and process generation
  • Develop / maintain Quality Standards (VQRs) and input into Part Quality Standards
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineering in delivery fully approved of new products
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Essential Criteria 
 
HNC in an automotive engineering discipline
 
Experience in automotive Powertrain systems either as OEM or Tier 1 supplier. Must be able to demonstrate application of engineering quality tools and techniques. Experience of vehicle design and development processes. Practical experience of FMEA and problem solving techniques. Must have an appreciation of automotive engineering quality tools within vehicle programmes.
 
 
Desirable Criteria 
 
Degree in an automotive engineering discipline
 
Experience of the application of automotive engineering quality tools in a vehicle programme and an OEM environment. Knowledge of vehicle powertrain systems, engine and driveline, EV propulsion would be advantageous.  
Other information
Travel may be required at times to support supplier / intercompany activities globally.
