Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):

The purpose of this role is to lead the New Product Quality function in delivering the product Quality and Reliability uplift of Lotus’ products that the business and its customers demand.

The main duties of the role includes:

  • Develop strategies to improve Quality of new products using industry best practice.
  • Own and deliver annual departmental plan to turn strategies into activities across new model programmes.
  • Set and agree Quality targets and Quality standards for all new model programmes.
  • Own and delivery Project Quality Plan in line with programme timing/deadlines/targets.
  • Define and implement customer focused Quality systems that ensure Lotus continues to understand and exceed its customers expectations.
  • Report Lotus Quality performance to the senior management team and board on regular basis ensuring clarity of reports and ensuring completion of action plans to address KPIs away from target.
  • Set departmental budget and manage achievement.
  • Ensure continual development and progression of team members within the department.
  • By example; drive cultural change within terms of customer focused quality thinking.
  • Define departmental organisation/structure in line with strategy to support all future programmes.
  • Complete manpower planning and recruit skilled personnel to deliver all Quality related activities.
  • Implement and drive Perceived Quality within Lotus.
  • Ensure robust governance of New Model Programmes through NPDS milestones and gateways.
  • Input to cycle planning and strategic reviews with regards to future expectation/requirements of Lotus products.
  • Arbitration pf Quality conflicts/decisions/product acceptability ensuring the right decisions are made for the good of the customer and business.
  • Champion group Product Quality collaboration aligning systems, processes and standards where appropriate for Lotus.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
 Essential Criteria:
  • Degree qualified professional engineer, HND, HNC or similar.
  • Experience of Quality tools/techniques and technical problem solving within Automotive or OEM.
  • Experience of New model project management and delivery from concept to launch.
  • Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Experience of automotive assembly.
  • Experience of vehicle development and introduction.
Other information
This is an office based role with regular periods within the factory supporting vehicle build activities. Frequent UK travel may be required for the role as well as occasional overseas travel in support of Group/Supplier activities.
